Hull Rupture turrets are the defence half of this Steam PC game: aliens run along the outside of your spaceship toward the airlock, and turrets in slots along the route shoot them. No full turret or enemy list is published, so this page covers the rules the developer has described.
Hull Rupture Turrets Known So Far
The second devlog says combat and production run at the same time: while enemies attack, humans keep working and resources keep moving. The developer's aim is that a well-prepared ship can be left to fight on its own. You place defences in dedicated slots along the enemy routes, upgrade them, or replace them with stronger ones. Turrets and similar defences are built from recipes that use resources, and stronger ones need more and rarer resources.
For the wider loop, see the Hull Rupture beginner guide.
How Enemies Reach Your Ship
Enemies and drop pods come first in any defence plan. Enemies come by drop pods that land on the upper and lower outer hull. The creatures then walk toward the airlock. Ships can also have internal corridors that enemies use, which adds routes, choke points and overlapping fields of fire, much like a lane map.
- Bosses: they land at the upper far-left of the ship, as far from the airlock as possible.
- Warning: the preview says the number and types of foes are shown before each wave, and you can see where they will land.
- Timing: the preview build sent a wave about every three minutes. The full game may differ.
Where the pods land depends on your hull, so Hull Rupture hull construction is the main way to change the route.
Turret Shape and Ship Layout
The developer links turret choice to the shape of the ship:
- Long, straight sections suit long-range shots that pierce several enemies.
- A twisting tunnel suits stronger short-range weapons and ricocheting shots.
- Debuffs such as slowing, extra damage taken and poison matter, and the devlog says raw damage alone will be hard to rely on.
The preview adds that players often cluster defences, which can leave gaps fast enemies exploit. That is the preview's observation, not a tested rule. More ideas are in the Hull Rupture tips.
Rat Turret and Black Market Turrets
The Rat Turret, one of the Hull Rupture turrets named so far, was added in a demo patch and turns enemies it hits into rats. Its stats have not been published.
Black Markets on the map sell turrets, and some turrets never appear there, so experienced players can learn what to expect. See the Hull Rupture galaxy map page. The post-battle Hull Rupture shop page covers the crates that were being tested for modules and turrets.
What Is Not Published
Hull Rupture turrets have no public database yet. The developer has not published a turret list, enemy names, boss names or stats. Modules and turrets are planned to be movable, at a cost in time. Humans can also join the defence; see Hull Rupture humans.
Hull Rupture Turrets FAQ
Do I have to control turrets by hand?
The developer's design goal is that you can ignore a battle if the ship is prepared, so defences fight on their own. Specific controls have not been published.
What are the drop pods?
They are how aliens arrive, landing on the outer hull before the creatures walk to the airlock. A longer route spreads them further apart.
Is there a list of turrets and enemies?
Not yet from the developer. We only list names that the sources give.
Does the demo show this?
Yes, in part. The demo showed Hull Rupture turrets on one ship. The demo had one ship, and the Hull Rupture demo page explains what carries over. Ship names are on the Hull Rupture ships page.
