The Hull Rupture shop is where you turn tokens into new modules and turrets after each battle in this Steam and PC base-management roguelite. Its design changed during the demo period, so this page follows the developer's posts and notes what is still unpublished. We have not played the full game; nothing here is hands-on testing.
Hull Rupture Shop After a Battle
Earlier builds sold individual modules and turrets. The developer's Next Fest post described a rework: you buy themed crates instead, which are loot boxes paid for with in-game currency, not real money. The reason given is to avoid restarting runs because one specific module never showed up, and to cut the number of decisions after every fight.
A later demo update put the rework into the demo. The post-battle shop now sells themed boxes of modules or turrets, and the developer said it was still polishing the look of the shop. If you need defense, pick a turret box; if production is struggling, pick a module box. The Hull Rupture demo page lists what carried over to the full game.
Themed Crates
The Next Fest post names Defense, Humans and Rare as example categories. Each crate holds several recipes from one category, which the developer says is more cost-effective than buying single items. Modules can also drop with modifiers already installed.
The developer has not published a complete list of crate types, their token prices or drop chances. Treat the three names as examples, not a full list. A related idea for planning: since a crate gives one theme, picking it is a choice about your strategy, such as defense or Hull Rupture humans and production.
Module Kits and Despot's Chamber
In the Hull Rupture shop, a module kit is what a crate gives you to build a module. The demo update also made the Despot's Chamber produce kits: the more humans work there, the more kits it makes. They are random and slow, but free, and an unneeded kit can be sold in the post-battle shop toward a new crate.
A demo patch changed randomization in both the shop and the Despot's Chamber, so you are more likely to see a kit you have not found yet in the current run and less likely to repeat a recent one. The developer also said kit containers remain a central part of the game, and that it plans more modules that make the same resources in different ways. The Chamber also boosts neighboring modules; see Hull Rupture hull construction for where blocks and slots go.
Modifiers and Synergies
Modifiers improve modules, change how they work and create synergies. Since the demo, modules can be placed in any empty slot. Shop and event modifiers come from largely separate pools; the Hull Rupture galaxy map page covers the event side.
The developer has said turrets can be moved: it is free but very slow, with downtime afterward. For modules, a planned full-release change said moving is possible but costs time, and the demo did not support it. Whether that shipped is not confirmed. Turret-related details are on the Hull Rupture turrets page.
Tokens and What Is Unpublished
Tokens are the Hull Rupture shop currency, except in Cursed Mode, where purchases are paid in humans instead. Not published yet: crate prices, the full crate list, kit lists, reroll rules and token income. Until then, the Hull Rupture beginner guide and Hull Rupture tips are the safest starting points.
Hull Rupture Shop FAQ
Can I buy a specific module?
Not directly, as far as the sources say. You buy a themed crate that gives a selection of kits in one category. A reviewer at Gaming Cypher noted that randomization can make finding one specific generator hard.
What happens to kits I do not need?
The developer's launch post says free kits from the Despot's Chamber can be sold in the post-battle shop and the money used toward a new crate.
Which crates exist?
Defense, Humans and Rare are the named examples. The developer has not published a full list of crate types.
Is there a shop achievement?
Yes. Shopaholic asks you to spend 5,000 tokens in the shop in total, and Robo-Shopaholic asks for 10,000. Both are on the Hull Rupture achievements page.
