Hull Rupture ships are only partly documented on launch day. The Steam page for this single-player PC game says there are 3 ships, 6 modes and 4 difficulty levels, but the sources we trust name only two ships and no complete mode list. This page separates what is confirmed from what is still open. The Hull Rupture wiki home page links the rest of the guides. Systems such as hull construction and humans and production have their own guides.
Hull Rupture Ships Known So Far
The Steam store data says each ship has its own layout, systems and loss tolerance, and that ships unlock through milestones and challenges. The developer has not published the unlock conditions yet. That is the full picture of Hull Rupture ships on launch day.
| Ship | What the sources say |
|---|---|
| Izumo | A small, maneuverable ship built from salvaged scrap. The Wand preview says it was the only ship in the demo. |
| Hephaestus | Named in the Steam achievement "Conveyor", which asks you to beat Classic mode with it on any difficulty. |
| Unnamed starting ship | A developer devlog describes a ship built for low mass and many star visits, without giving its name. We do not know if it is the Hephaestus. |
| Third ship | Not named in any source we trust. |
Because the free demo only had the Izumo, the Hull Rupture demo page is the place to check what carries over to the full game.
Hull Rupture Modes
The store page advertises 6 modes. The exact six are not confirmed: sources name Classic, Trade, Conquest, Cursed, Uneventful, Pure, Impossible, Endless and Sprint, which is more than six. Here is what each source actually says.
- Classic: 20 alien waves, and the run ends when Despot reaches 0 HP. It is the default setup.
- Trade: has no combat. It was in the demo, and its unlock carries over to the full game.
- Cursed: you pay with humans instead of tokens, per a developer post.
- Endless: now separate from Classic. A reviewer saw slowdowns after wave 40 and said it needs balance work.
- Sprint: an achievement, "20-Minute Adventure", asks you to beat it. Its rules are not published.
- Conquest: an achievement, "Commander", asks you to beat it. Its rules are not published either.
- Impossible: the Wand preview claims it needs you to finish another mode first. Treat that as a preview claim, not a confirmed rule.
Uneventful and Pure appear only as names. For a first run, the Hull Rupture beginner guide explains how Classic works.
Difficulty Levels
The store advertises 4 difficulty levels. Only Easy, Hard and Hardcore show up in the achievements list, so the fourth name is unknown. A devlog says guarded stars appear only at higher difficulty. They trigger extra waves that do not count toward the 20 and give extra rewards. The Hull Rupture achievements page lists which achievements need Hard or Hardcore.
Modules and Resources Named in Sources
No official database exists yet, so this is only what previews and devlogs name.
| Module | What the sources say |
|---|---|
| Energy generator | Produces energy every 20 seconds, only while humans are assigned (Wand preview). |
| Reproducer | Makes humans. |
| Bioreactor | A converter that got an auto-send button in the demo patch. |
| Despot's Chamber | Boosts neighboring modules and provides module kits. |
| Engine | Sets travel speed; engine investment trades speed against fuel and resources. |
| Rat Turret | Turns enemies it hits into rats (demo patch 0.10.12). |
Resources named across previews and devlogs are energy, humans, fuel (including biofuel), microchips, isotopes, tokens, minerals and Adamantium. For layout advice, see the Hull Rupture tips page.
