Hull Rupture crash and launch problems are still being collected on launch day, and this page lists only what players and the developer wrote in the Steam discussions. The Steam game launched on November 4, 2026, so there is no official fix list yet and we have not reproduced any of these ourselves. Check your PC against the Hull Rupture system requirements first.

Hull Rupture Crash Reports So Far

One player reported on launch day that the bought game would not start and showed a white "not responding" window. A developer asked for the contents of the save folder and the build version shown in the bottom-right corner of the main menu, and had offered no fix at the time we checked. Other reports below come from the demo, so they may or may not still apply to the full game.

Telemetry and Won't Launch Reports

A demo-era thread asked whether telemetry is required, after a player said the game crashed when network access was blocked or timed out. A developer replied that the only outside connection is Sentry, an error-log service, and that the team would never crash the game on purpose. Blocking all traffic with a firewall let the game start but stopped it from exiting until the firewall was reopened, and the developer suspected the Steam client connection. The thread never states the cause of the startup crash, and the developer did not say whether the released game needs network access, so we cannot call it required or not required.

Game Will Not Exit on Windows

A player traced a game that never closed, with Steam still showing it as running, to a file called UnityCrashHandler contacting Unity on every close. Their workaround was renaming or deleting that file or ending the process. On November 2 the developer said crash dumps go through Sentry, so that handler is not needed, and promised to remove it from the release version. Whether the release actually dropped it is unverified. Editing game files is at your own risk and we have not tested it.

Hull Rupture Crash on Mac and Apple Silicon

In late October a player said the demo failed on an Apple Silicon Mac with the message "Failed to start process for this game: OS Error 0" and suspected missing Rosetta. A developer answered that similar reports hit other games when a new macOS version came out, that installing Rosetta seemed to be the only fix at the time, and that a possible Steam-side fix had been found and would be tried. No source confirms that the fix shipped in the full game. The store lists macOS as supported with Big Sur or later; see the system requirements page for the numbers.

Slowdowns After Wave 40

The demo patch notes for version 0.10.12 list slowdowns after wave 40 in Endless as a known performance problem, with no promised date. Players reported frame rates collapsing between roughly waves 27 and 40 in long runs, including one report on a high-end PC. A developer said earlier fixes addressed bugs that look like performance problems, such as humans getting stuck in the corridor between hull blocks, and asked affected players to send their save folder. Classic Mode ends at wave 20, so the Hull Rupture ships and modes page notes which modes can reach that length, and the is Hull Rupture worth it guide covers a reviewer's comment on Endless.

Where the Save Folder Is

The developer gave these locations for the debug and save files when asking for reports:

PlatformFolder
WindowsC:\Users\<name>\AppData\LocalLow\Konfa Games\HullRupture
macOS~/Library/Application Support/com.KonfaGames.HullRupture or ~/Library/Application Support/Konfa Games/HullRupture
Linux~/.config/unity3d/Konfa Games/HullRupture

The build version is in the bottom-right corner of the main menu. Include both when you post a report on the Steam page linked from Hull Rupture official links. For the demo's own known gaps, see the Hull Rupture demo page, and follow the Hull Rupture updates log for fixes.

Hull Rupture Crash FAQ

Is telemetry required to play Hull Rupture?

Not confirmed. A developer said the only outside connection is Sentry for error logs, but nobody has stated whether the released game needs network access to start.

Is there a launch patch that fixes the crashes?

None was listed in the Steam news feed on launch day; the only versioned patch notes were for the demo, version 0.10.12 from September 25.

Does Hull Rupture work on Apple Silicon Macs?

The store lists macOS support, but the demo had a reported launch failure on Apple Silicon and no source confirms the fix. Installing Rosetta was the workaround mentioned in the thread.

Where do I report a Hull Rupture crash?

Use the Steam community discussions for the game, and include your build version from the main menu and the contents of your save folder, as the developer requested.
